Onka Women Get Huge Win over Woodville (115-0)
Onkas Women played at home vs Woodville. Woodville started with 12 players, so Onkas lent them some to fill out the team.
Onkas started with a kick off heading north, which was knocked on by the Woodville prop. Onkas won their scrum and Kayla barrelled through the opposition. The ball went wide and then back in to Isabelle, before Danica crashed back inside. Grace then took the ball in the centres and drew players, and the ball was flicked out to Catlin who ran it in on the wing for Onkas first score after just under 2 minutes. Ashley’s conversion was successful.
Onkas 7 – Woodville 0.
Woodville’s kick bounced to Jade W, who weaved through the opposition but lost the ball forwards in a tackle on the halfway. Onkas stole the scrum and the ball spun out to the backs. Onkas crashed several times before making a break on the wing. A couple more big hits resulted in a Woodville steal, but they knocked on in the tackle. Onkas played advantage, spinning the ball out to Leah who found a huge hole in the defence and ran in to score. Ashley converted.
Onkas 14 – Woodville 0
Woodville kicked and it was caught by Caity who went forward, Ashley kicked deep and Leah C caught the runner on the 40m. A big drive by Charlotte drove the next runner back and Woodville knocked on. Onkas won their scrum and ran several hit ups before an overthrow went loose. Leah C dived on it but Woodville managed to steal and kicked long. Caitlin gathered and took the ball up before it went out to Caity on the wing. She crashed up and then the ball spun out to Leah who slipped through the line to run in a try from the defensive 40m and converted.
Onkas 21 – Woodville 0
The kick off was caught by Grace who hit it up. Danica took the next hit and then Ashley chipped through, soccering the ball along before recovering and crossing to score and convert.
Onkas 28 - Woodville 0
Woodville’s kick went short and low and was knocked on. Onka drove hard at the scrum, winning a penalty and Ashley kicked. The ball stayed in and Woodville took the ball across field being caught on their defensive 22m. A smothered kick turned the ball over and Onkas went on the attack with Danica crashing over under the posts. Ashley converted.
Onkas 35 – Woodville 0
The kick went deep this time, and Grace took it forward before the ball spun to the wing. Shakira stepped back inside and scored under the posts. Ashley converted.
Onkas 42 – Woodville 0
Woodville kicked and Caity caught the ball. After a hit up by Kayla, Ashley kicked deep and the ball rolled out just before the 22m. Woodville won their lineout and trickled a kick through, which Olivia recovered. Grace pushed through the line and then the ball went to Caitlin, on the wing, who stepped back inside past two opponents to score. Ashley converted.
Onkas 49 – Woodville 0
Woodville kicked long and the ball bounced. Grace recovered and fought back to the 22m. Ashley made a break up the wing, passing to Caity who took the defender and passed back to Ashley. Ashley scored under the posts and converted.
Onkas 56 – Woodville 0
The kick went high and Caity caught it and fended the first attacker. Woodville were quick to the ruck and received a penalty, taking the hit up. Onkas tackled well, holding them at the 22m before Woodville knocked on. Onkas played on and Woodville stole the ball at the ruck. After a few hit ups, Onkas stole the ball and Caitlin kicked it out on the 22m.
Woodville won their lineout and went to the centres, but Onkas defended well, pushing Woodville backwards over several phases before Oliva stole the ball and Danica crashed through the line making a big break. She almost managed a pass to Leah P but the ball went slightly forward. Onkas stole the scrum and attacked up to the 5m line. After a few big hits, Grace broke the line and scored under the posts. Ashley converted.
Onkas 63 – Woodville 0
The kick-off fell to Caity who passed to Grace. Kayla took the next hit and Ashley kicked. Good defensive pressure put Woodville on the back foot and forced a kick, which Caitlin recovered. Ashley broke several tackles and passed to Caity who made a break up the wing. She tried to pass back inside but the ball fell loose and Woodville stole it. They went to the centres but knocked on for half time.
HALF TIME: ONKAS 63 – WOODVILLE 0
The second half started with Woodville kicking north. The ball bounced out just past the 40m and Onkas won their lineout going wide to Kate, who ran the length of the pitch to score. Ashley converted.
Onkas 70 – Woodville 0
A low kick fell to Kayla who crashed it up. Onkas went wide the back inside to Danica and then Grace, who crashed through her defender and passed to Ashley, who scored under the posts and converted.
Onkas 77 – Woodville 0
Woodville’s kick bounced just over the line was recovered by Ashley. Caitlin kicked over and chased up – recovering but was caught isolated and penalised. Woodville tapped and Onkas held them on the 22m. They kicked and Onkas knocked on at the 40m. Woodville cleared their scrum but knocked on in a tackle and Onkas played on, taking it forward. Kate made a break on the wing and scored under the posts. Ashley converted.

Danica caught the high kick off and pushed forward, then the ball spun to Caity on the wing. After a couple of phases, Onkas knocked on at the halfway. Woodville attacked with several phases, before kicking and Onkas knocked on. Woodville threw a loose ball to the centres, forcing them back to halfway and Grace stole the ball, passing to Jade W, who ran to score under the posts. Ashley converted.

The next kick fell to Danica who crashed through the line, Caity took the next hit, but Woodville received a penalty for not releasing. They tapped, but Onkas defended well and drew their own penalty. Ashley kicked and the ball went out on their attacking 40m. From the lineout, Onkas went wide, finding Caitlin who stepped the opposition to score under the posts. Ashley converted.
Onkas 98 – Woodville 0
A low kick bounced up to Kayla who charged forward. Onkas lost a messy ruck, and Woodville received a penalty. They tapped by Onkas held them up and play stopped for an injury, restarting with a Woodville scrum. Onkas almost stole the scrum but stole the ball from a loose Woodville pass. Caitlin kicked long and chased up, catching the received just past the 40m. Woodville ran a few attacking phases, Caity stole the ball and put Onkas on the attack again. A big hit from Danica drew in some defenders and Ashley faked a pass and then slipped inside the defensive line to score and convert.
Onkas 105 – Woodville 0
The kick fell short and Leah C picked it up but was tackled out. From the lineout, Woodville ran a couple of attacking phases being driven back by Onkas defensive pressure. Olivia stole a loose ball at the ruck and Onkas set a ruck but knocked on. Woodville threw a loose pass from a pressured scrum and knocked on. Onkas won their scrum and went out wide but knocked on. Onkas stole the scrum, but the scrum was reset. This time Woodville kicked and Caitlin caught the ball, passing to Kate who passed to Leah C on the wing. Leah ran past the 22m and the ball came back to the centres where Danica crashed up. A loose pass to the wing led to a knock on inside the attacking 22m. Woodville kicked and Caitlin collected the ball, taking it forward. Woodville stole the ruck, but Caity stole it back in a jackal. Ashley took the ball and ran around the opposition scoring on the wing. Ashley’s conversion was successful.

Onkas Reserves Steamroll Elizabeth after Slow Start (68-5)
The Reserve Grade put on a great show against Elizabeth, after starting slow and going into half time 12-5. They came out hard in the second half stacking on the tries and winning 68-5.
